He selected the land where their vacation house was to be built, while Margaret selected the home’s Spanish Mission Revival style. had envisioned the town as a much needed retreat from the stresses of city life in Philadelphia. When Grace was a girl, the Kelly family vacationed in Ocean City every summer. At one point the family actually had two homes right across the street from each other: the original house at 2536 Wesley Avenue and a beach house built on 26 th Street in 1960 that has since been torn down to make way for more modern condos. ![]() The Kelly family owned a home in the seaside town from 1929 until 2001. Next on our tour of Grace Kelly’s local life is Ocean City, New Jersey. Or you could go for a paddle-boarding via Ba圜ats on the bay! Take surf lessons from OC Surf School, sweat it out in a yoga class at Y oga Ginger, or take a long walk over the beautiful rolling hills of the 9th street bridge! If it’s a rainy or cloudy day, you can take a paint class with your kiddies or friends at Peace of Wood. They’re located all the way at the North end around first street. If you are staying overnight or you’re there early in the morning, take a sunrise bike ride on the boardwalk and stop at Brown’s for a hot fresh donut. ![]() To Experienceīike rides are our main means of transportation around town. I also love Bungalow Bowls for acai and pitaya bowls and Yoasis for frozen yogurt & smoothies. I satisfy my sweet tooth at Bashful Banana! They have vegan cupcakes and baked goods. Don’t forget your sunscreen and a towel! And please, don’t feed the seagulls. You can usually find me at Waverly or 58th St. Must dos? The ferris wheel – especially at sunset – to see the whole city, and a round of mini golf! 5. Take a stroll in the afternoon and hit some of my favorite snack spots: Manco & Manco (world famous pizza), Curly Fries, & Johnson’s Popcorn (get the classic caramel corn!). ![]() Of course you MUST hit the boardwalk, especially if you haven’t before. Ready to shop? Take a walk down Asbury Avenue and check out my go to boutiques: Colette’s, Heritage, 7th St. I get it along with their amazing, crispy homefries. OC Surf Cafe – My personal favorite breakfast (maybe ever) is the eggs benedict with avocado & tomato. Jon & Pattys Coffee Bar & Bistro – This is by far my favorite lunch location! They have amazing bread, appetizers, sandwiches, soups, vegetarian options, and some tasty coffee drinks. After all, you’re in America’s Greatest Family Resort □ You might as well make the most of it -there is so much to do! 1.
